It’s a hot summer, and time to have cold beers.
So a bunch of our fans, over the years, have learned that Mel and I are punk rockers. I’m a little more punk than Mel. I love hardcore, grindcore, death metal, really noisy music. I’m also covered in tattoos and usually wear a kilt and other things that make some of our fans look at me like I’m about to vault the con table and force them to slug whiskey with me.
I love finding new music, and I just found this band that I think needs some exposure. They’re called Baby’s First Pistol, and I dig their flavor of punk. If you’re reading this, and you like punk music at all, you should check them out. Canadian punk band with some serious chops.
Serial Kilters Rule.
What’s the difference between a shandy and a radler?
HOLY CRAP you might have just discovered my new favorite band for me!!!
Those videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and Snek – a shandy is either lemonade or sprite (lemon/lime soda) in beer. Radlers are more….open ended. Any kind of fruit, though usually citrus as I’ve seen them…..
But then, skip the whole thing, drink a good Belgian and call it good? Or a fruity cider…mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
(found a Citron hard cider at the pub the other day. I’m hooked.)
@snek: Radler’s specifically German, at least according to Wikipedia.
Hey, J., you should check out Descartes a Kant: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJSU8208pvIGhKjobGUHTag
I saw them years ago while flipping through the digital decimal broadcast channels, and was amazed by their aesthetic, sounds, lyrics, and sheer balls-to-the-wall, in-your-face uniqueness.
Another great Noise Pop band is Fight Like Apes: https://www.youtube.com/@FLApesOfficial/featured
I was introduced to them by the very first episode of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limitless_(TV_series), which used “I’m Beginning to Think You Prefer Beverly Hills 90210 to Me”.
